Learning Japanese Hiragana Or Katakana First






Katakana is used mostly for independent words so although those are important, it would be more fun to learn hiragana first because you will immediately be able to start seeing the structure of japanese text better.. By learning hiragana, you will learn the basics of japanese pronunciation. it will also open doors in terms of the japanese resources you can use. there are no (good) japanese textbooks or learning resources that don't require you to know hiragana. in essence, it's the first step to learn japanese.. In japanese, we use three scripts (also called “alphabets” or “syllabaries”). these scripts are hiragana, katakana and kanji, all of which play an important part in learning japanese. if you use this learning guide as your primary tool, it won’t be long before you will be reading and writing japanese like a master!.

If you haven't yet, please review the learn hiragana guide before you begin learning the katakana. if you have, then you know the drill. let's get started with the first ten katakana. in terms of what you're learning, it will be very simple. katakana is, for the most part, the same sounds you learned with hiragana.. Japanese children learn hiragana first, then moving steadily through katakana and kanji. the 46 hiragana letters are sounds that make up syllables. for instance, the first 5 hiragana letters are a, i, u, e and o.. Hiragana is the basic japanese phonetic script. it represents every sound in the japanese language. therefore, you can theoretically write everything in hiragana. however, because japanese is written with no spaces, this will create nearly indecipherable text..
