Learning two languages from the start at the same time can be very difficult - the grammar differs a fair bit and you could mix it up, you're having to remember two sets of vocab, and particularly with chinese and japanese you could possibly mx characters up a lot.. If you are already familiar with japanese or korean, it’s not a bad idea to at least try learning the other. get started by chatting with lanny from eggbun to learn korean and japanese .. All my language books | japanese, korean, and mandarin livluvlang. learning korean, japanese & chinese together can i learn two languages at the same time?.
As many people below have already advised, i suggest you to not attempt to learn both languages at the same time. although japanese and chinese may be similar solely in the fact that japanese kanji is taking from chinese characters, they are implemented in a very different way. not only this, but grammatically, the languages are different, like heming zhao said, and if you do intend on. I found part of the japanese language easier to learn after studying chinese. japanese has two basic strains, an "indigenous" strain, which its own hiragana and katagana script, and the "chinese" based strain, in which the japanese adopted the chinese hanzi as "kanji" for many words, as well as a pronunciation similar to the chinese for those words.. This year, i decided to study two languages at the same time, but found that i ended up just focusing on japanese anyways because it was far more interesting to me. if your level in japanese and chinese is relatively the same, then i would strongly advise you do not take them at the same time..
